Important Update and FAQs: Bloomerang Transition
If you are a donor, you’re likely familiar with the name Kindful. Kindful has served as our donor platform for almost a decade, processing donations and serving as a portal for donors to access their giving history.
Earlier this year, we were informed that Bloomerang, the organization that owns Kindful, will be ending Kindful support and moving to its own platform. We’ve opted to make that transition this month.
The good news is that the move is complete, and your donations and information are safely stored on the new Bloomerang donor platform. What’s important to us is that you know how to use the platform as a Heartline donor.
Below we’ve listed some FAQs, but if you don’t see your question, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at connect@heartlinehaiti.org. We want this transition to be as seamless as possible for YOU, and we are here to help.
What will change for me as a donor?
If you have a saved link you use to give, those links are changing. You’ll notice the forms to give look different as well. If you have a saved or bookmarked link, you'll want to use a new one going forward. Below are the new giving links.
Is my personal information secure?
Nothing is changing regarding how we secure your personal information. You can read more about Bloomerang’s security features here.
Do you share my personal information? Does Bloomerang share my personal information?
No, your personal information remains confidential. In addition, Bloomerang never sells data for AI training or to third parties.
Do I donate the same way as I always have?
Yes, although it will look slightly different, the donation process is the same. Again, if you have a saved or bookmarked link, please replace it with one of the new links listed above.
What happened to all my Kindful historical information?
Data from before the Bloomerang transition (such as your giving history) is unfortunately no longer visible to donors – which is out of our control. However, we can see that history on the back end, and can answer any questions you may have – get in touch with us at connect@heartlinehaiti.org. This will not impact your tax/giving statement for the 2026 tax year. The statement that you normally receive by the end of January for tax purposes will reflect your giving history for the full year.
Will I receive a year-end tax summary as I have in past years?
Yes! We intend to share a year-end tax summary as we have in the past.
How do I edit account information?
On any giving form (for example, this one) you can create an account when you make a gift. You can log in to that account at the top right of the form, where it says “Sign in.” Then select “My Account” to view your post-Bloomerang giving history, contact information, recurring gifts, and more.
What do I do if I need to update or change payment information?
If your card is expiring and you have a recurring gift, Bloomerang should email you with a link to update your payment information. Otherwise, please email us at connect@heartlinehaiti.org and we’ll be more than happy to help. As far as we can tell, there’s not yet a feature that allows you to change the information on your own.
How does this change benefit Heartline and most importantly, the families it serves?
On one hand, this is a decision we were forced to make – support for Kindful is sunsetting, and Bloomerang is the only platform that we felt confident would bring in all of our data from Kindful. However, Bloomerang is slightly less costly than Kindful was, and offers more in-depth features than Kindful did. We are hopeful Bloomerang will help us increase our fundraising efficacy, therefore making a bigger impact for families in Haiti. Additionally, Bloomerang maintains Kindful’s feature allowing donors to cover credit card fees when making a donation, which offsets our costs and ensures 100% of your gift goes to our important work.
