Scholarship Fund

A rare opportunity in Haiti. Reality for our outstanding students.

Even amidst immense material poverty and terrible violence, Haitian children find a way to dream.

They tell us what they want to be when they grow up – a doctor, an engineer, a tap-tap driver.

Heartline’s Scholarship Fund exists so that when the time comes, those kids can pursue their dreams with the financial and logistical support they need to succeed. This program is open to graduates of our Children's Education program, as well as to the families of Heartline staff.

Through a rigorous interview process, students are selected for the program by local Heartline staff. Heartline works alongside these young scholars to identify transportation, secure supplies, and complete applications, tests, and other prerequisites (on top of providing the funding they need for tuition and books).

Today, there are thirteen students in our scholarship program:

  • Bedjo V. is studying computer science at Port-au-Prince’s American University of the Caribbean.

  • Frantzdy B., Brian C., and Claudy P. are training to be Heavy Equipment Operators at Port-au-Prince’s Centre de formation professionnelle jeunesse en action.

  • Alexandre G. is preparing applications for a bachelor’s in accounting.

  • Aljany N. is pursing her master’s degree in media management online from France’s Université de Lille.
